Neneh Mariann Karlsson (conceived 10 March 1964), otherwise called Neneh Cherry, is a Swedish vocalist lyricist, rapper, intermittent DJ and telecaster.

To date, Cherry has discharged four studio collections. Her to begin with, Raw Like Sushi was discharged 1989 and topped at number three on the UK Album Chart, thanks in extensive part to the overall hit single "Wild ox Stance". Her second studio collection was 1992's Homebrew. After four years she discharged Man, and after that discharged her latest studio collection Blank Project in 2014.

Notwithstanding discharging these studio collections, she framed the band cirKus in 2006 and has worked together with The Thing, discharging a collection entitled The Cherry Thing in 2012.

Cherry was conceived as Neneh Mariann Karlsson in Stockholm, the little girl of Monica "Moki" Karlsson, a Swedish painter and material craftsman, and the performer Ahmadu Jah. Jah was conceived in Sierra Leone, the child of a boss, and went to Stockholm to think about building at college.

Cherry's mom hitched the persuasive American jazz performer Don Cherry, who helped raise Cherry since birth. Cherry took her stepfather's surname.

Cherry has a stepsister, vocalist Titiyo, and stepbrother, record maker Cherno Jah, from her dad Ahmadu Jah's marriage to Maylen Jah (née Bergström). Cherry additionally has a relative, performer Eagle-Eye Cherry, a stepsister, violinist Jan Cherry, and a stepbrother, jazz artist David Ornette Cherry from stepfather Don Cherry's side.

Cherry's folks, Moki and Don Cherry, purchased and changed over an old school building in the farmland outside the residential area of Hässleholm in Sweden in 1970.In the mid 1970s, the family moved to the United States, when Don Cherry instructed at Dartmouth College. Cherry dropped out of school at 14 and moved to London.

Cherry said she discovered her voice chiming in with Poly Styrene from X-Ray Spex. She experienced childhood in a melodic family; she sang with her dad at the piano.
